Where Macomb County stops being suburban

Drive north on Van Dyke past 26 Mile and the pattern changes. Lots stretch to an acre and beyond, houses sit back from the road, driveways get long, and a good number of them end in gravel. Fields, orchards and horse property sit between subdivisions rather than around them, and Stony Creek Metropark takes up the western edge.

The housing reflects that.
