Move Out Cleaning Services in Metro Detroit

An empty house is a different job, and it gets a different checklist.

DITA Pro Clean provides move out cleaning services for tenants, homeowners, landlords and realtors across Macomb County and eastern Oakland County. We clean the property empty, which means inside every cabinet, drawer, closet, appliance and window track, so it passes a landlord walkthrough or a final buyer inspection. We do the same work in reverse as move in cleaning, so a family takes possession of a home that has been sanitized before a single box comes through the door.

Who this is for

Tenants who want the full security deposit back, homeowners closing on a sale, landlords turning a unit between renters, realtors preparing a listing for photos or a final walkthrough, and buyers who do not want to inherit the last owner's kitchen. It suits apartments in Warren and Sterling Heights, rental houses in Clinton Township, condos in Troy and Royal Oak, and larger homes in Macomb Township and Rochester Hills.

Why households choose DITA

A move out clean is judged by someone with a clipboard, so the standard is pass or fail, not tidy. Dita Hoxha walks the property before we quote and writes the checklist against the things inspections actually flag: appliance interiors, cabinet and drawer interiors, window tracks, closet shelves, light fixtures, baseboards and the marks furniture leaves behind. Our cleaners are vetted, background-checked and fully insured, and the owner reviews the property before we hand the keys back.

How it differs from apartment and condo cleaning

Move out cleaning happens once, with the property empty and the keys about to change hands. Apartment and condo cleaning is ongoing work in an occupied unit, with the building's rules in play.

How often do you need us?

One-time by nature. Most clients book us for the day after the truck leaves, or the day before a scheduled walkthrough. We work weekends and evenings when a closing date demands it.

What's included in move out cleaning

This is the checklist your cleaners work from. Dita writes it against your actual floor plan at the walkthrough, and nothing on it is an optional extra.

  • Inside every cabinet, drawer and closetEmptied shelves vacuumed then wiped, drawer bottoms cleaned, closet shelving and rods wiped, and the top shelf that nobody reaches when they live there.
  • Appliance interiorsOven cavity, racks and door glass degreased, refrigerator shelves and drawers washed and dried, freezer wiped out, dishwasher filter cleared, microwave cleaned inside and out.
  • Bathrooms taken back to fixtureTubs, showers and grout scrubbed of soap scum, toilets cleaned inside and out including the base and hinges, vanity interiors wiped, medicine cabinets emptied and cleaned, chrome descaled.
  • Floors edge to edgeEvery carpet vacuumed with the room empty so the perimeter and under-furniture areas finally get done, hard floors swept and mopped into corners, closet floors included.
  • Baseboards, trim, doors and switch platesHand-wiped throughout, including door edges, casings, and the wall marks left by headboards, sofa backs and pet crates where they clean up safely.
  • Windows, tracks and sillsInterior glass cleaned, tracks vacuumed then wet-wiped, sills scrubbed, and blinds dusted slat by slat where they are staying with the property.
  • Light fixtures, vents and fansFixture bowls and shades washed where they lift safely, ceiling fan blades wiped, floor and ceiling registers cleaned, bathroom exhaust grilles cleared.
  • Laundry area, garage and basementWasher and dryer exteriors and the gap between them cleaned, laundry sink scrubbed, utility shelving wiped, garage swept out, basement floor cleared of dust and cobwebs.
  • A final walk with the ownerDita reviews the property against the written checklist before we lock up, so you are not the one discovering a missed cabinet on inspection day.

What an inspection actually looks at

A landlord walkthrough is not a vibe check, it is a list. The same items come up over and over in Metro Detroit rentals: the oven, the refrigerator, the inside of the kitchen cabinets and drawers, the bathroom grout and toilet base, the closet shelves, the window tracks, the baseboards, and the carpet where the sofa sat.

Those items are the spine of our checklist because those are the items that turn into deductions. Dita walks the property before we quote and adds whatever else is specific to it, the pet stains near a back door, the smoke film on a ceiling, the salt haze in a mudroom that has taken four winters of boots.

Empty is a different job

An occupied house is cleaned around obstacles. An empty house has nowhere to hide.

With rooms bare, the carpet perimeter, the wall behind the headboard, the floor under the dishwasher gap and the closet ceiling corners all become visible and all become part of the scope. Cabinet and drawer interiors move from optional to mandatory. The work roughly doubles compared to a routine visit, which is why an empty-house clean is priced and scheduled as its own service rather than as a longer version of House Cleaning.

Move in cleaning, the other direction

The one real window to clean a home you are buying or renting sits between the previous occupants leaving and your furniture arriving. It never happens again.

Move in cleaning uses the same checklist: appliance interiors, cabinet and closet interiors, bathrooms sanitized down to the fixture, floors done edge to edge, window tracks cleared, light fixtures and vent covers washed. In older brick homes around Royal Oak and Birmingham that also means radiator surrounds and deep window casings. In new-build subdivisions in Macomb Township it usually means construction residue in tracks and vents that the builder clean missed.

For landlords and realtors

Turnovers run on deadlines. We schedule around closings and lease start dates, work weekends when the calendar is tight, and hand back a property that photographs well for a listing. If a unit needs staging photos before it goes live, book the clean before the photographer, not after.

For properties that need one visit before an open house rather than a full turnover, One Time Cleaning may be the cheaper fit, and we will tell you if it is.

Good to know

Move Out Cleaning, your questions answered

Will a move out clean get my security deposit back?

It removes the cleaning reason for withholding it. Landlords in Michigan commonly deduct for appliance interiors, bathroom buildup, cabinet interiors and carpet condition, and those are exactly the items on our checklist. We cannot control deductions for damage or unpaid rent, but we can make sure nothing on the cleaning line is chargeable.

Why is cleaning an empty house different from a regular clean?

Because everything is exposed and everything counts. There is no furniture hiding the carpet perimeter, no dishes in the cabinets, no clothes in the closets. The scope roughly doubles, since interiors of cabinets, drawers, closets and appliances all become part of the job, and every wall mark is visible under bare light.

Should I book before or after the movers?

After. Cleaning an occupied or half-packed property means we work around boxes and then furniture drags grit back across a clean floor. Book us for the day the property is empty and the day before the walkthrough where the calendar allows.

Do you do move in cleaning as well?

Yes, and we recommend it. Move in cleaning is the same scope applied before your furniture arrives, which is the only time the house will ever be completely empty for you. Bathrooms, appliance interiors, cabinet interiors and floors get sanitized before a single box comes in.

Can realtors and landlords book directly?

Yes. We work with realtors preparing listings across Troy, Royal Oak, Birmingham and Grosse Pointe, and with landlords turning units in Warren, Sterling Heights and Clinton Township. If you manage several properties, Dita will set a standing scope and price so a turnover is one text message rather than a new quote every time.

What if the house has just been renovated?

Then it needs Post Construction Cleaning first, not a move out clean. Drywall dust settles into vents, tracks and light fixtures and reappears for days, so it needs a multi-pass approach before a final detail clean is worth doing.

How fast can you get to us?

Closing dates do not move, so we hold capacity for turnovers. Call or text (248) 971-4886 with the address and the deadline and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it.
