House Cleaning Services in Sterling Heights, MI

The largest city in Macomb County, and the center of our routes.

DITA Pro Clean provides house cleaning Sterling Heights homeowners can hold to a written checklist, from the brick ranches off Utica Road to the newer colonials north of 18 Mile. Sterling Heights holds roughly 134,000 residents, which makes it the largest city in Macomb County, and most of its housing stock went up between 1958 and 1978. That age shows up in the work: original ceramic tile, grout that has taken forty years of traffic, aluminum window tracks and a full basement under nearly every house. Dita Hoxha walks your home before we quote, and the same small team cleans it every visit after that.

Cleaning for Sterling Heights homes

Sterling Heights is really two housing markets inside one city boundary. South of 16 Mile, around Dodge Park, Plumbrook and the streets feeding Utica Road, the stock is 1960s and 1970s brick ranches and tri-levels on quarter-acre lots, most with a finished or half-finished basement and bathrooms that still have the original tile. North of 18 Mile, toward 19 Mile and Schoenherr, the builds are newer and larger: two-story colonials, open plans, more LVP and tile than carpet, second-floor laundry rooms and three-car garages. Those two halves need different time budgets. An older ranch takes hand-work on grout, radiator covers and window casings. A newer colonial is dominated by floor square footage and stair traffic. We quote the house in front of us instead of pricing off a square-footage table.

  • Sterling Heights is the center of our service areaWe already run routes through the city every week, from the Dequindre border across to Schoenherr and from 14 Mile up past 19 Mile. That means easier rescheduling, faster starts and no travel charge folded into your quote.
  • The owner walks the home before quotingDita Hoxha walks your house with you, room by room, before any number is given. She sees the basement humidity, the mudroom off the garage, the bathroom with the 1970s tile, and the checklist gets written against your actual floor plan.
  • Winter salt from Van Dyke and Mound gets planned forSterling Heights driveways feed straight onto some of the most heavily salted roads in Macomb County. From November through March we clean entryways, mudrooms and the first stretch of hallway first, before the salt grinds the finish off hardwood.
  • The same vetted team every visitCleaners are vetted and background-checked, and your address keeps the same small team. They learn which corner the dog hair collects in and which bathroom the kids use, so nothing has to be re-explained.
  • Locally owned and fully insuredDITA Pro Clean is locally owned and operated, not a franchise dispatching whoever is free. We are fully insured and the certificate is available for condo boards near Lakeside that ask for one.

One city, two kinds of house

Sterling Heights grew fast between the late 1950s and the late 1970s, and you can read that history off the street map. Around Dodge Park, Plumbrook and the older grid feeding Utica Road, the houses are brick ranches, tri-levels and quad-levels on quarter-acre lots. Almost all of them have a basement. Many still have the original ceramic bathroom tile, the original hardwood under carpet, aluminum window tracks that collect grit, and steel casement or slider windows with deep sills.

North of 18 Mile the city looks entirely different. Subdivisions off Schoenherr, Hayes and 19 Mile went up later and went up larger: two-story colonials, open kitchens running into great rooms, LVP and tile across most of the main floor, second-floor laundry and a three-car garage.

Those are different jobs. The older ranch takes hand-work: grout, casings, radiator covers, window tracks, the seam where the tub meets the surround. The newer colonial is a floor-area problem, with stairs and a long run of hard surface that has to be swept and damp-mopped without hazing the finish.

Salt season on Van Dyke and Mound

Sterling Heights sits on top of some of the most heavily salted pavement in Macomb County. Van Dyke, Mound Road, Metropolitan Parkway and Hall Road get treated hard from the first storm through the spring thaw, and every one of those roads feeds into a residential driveway.

Salt does not just leave gray marks. It is abrasive. Left on entry tile and the first three feet of hallway, it grinds finish off hardwood and stiffens carpet fiber. From November through March we clean entryways, mudrooms and garage-door landings first on every visit, then work outward. Boot trays get emptied and wiped rather than moved aside.

Pollen, humidity and the Clinton River corridor

Homes near Dodge Park, the Clinton River and the Sterling Heights Nature Center take more pollen and more fine dust than the rest of the city, and it lands on window sills, ledges, ceiling fan blades and the tops of door casings. Late April and May are when most of those households book a reset.

Summer brings the opposite problem. Finished basements across the older neighborhoods hold humidity into August, and the smell lives in carpet, the utility sink and the storage shelving rather than in the air. Air freshener does nothing for it. Cleaning the surfaces does.

Which service fits a Sterling Heights home

Most households here start with Deep Cleaning Services, because a 1970s ranch that has been maintained but never deep cleaned has years of buildup in grout, vent covers, window tracks and behind appliances. After that first reset, Recurring House Cleaning takes over on a weekly or every-other-week route, and that is the cadence most of our Sterling Heights clients settle on.

If you want a single visit before the holidays or after a party, One Time Cleaning Service covers it with no contract. Selling a house near Lakeside or handing back a rental on Van Dyke calls for Move Out Cleaning Services instead, which is a different scope: inside cabinets, inside appliances, closets, tracks and everything a walkthrough inspection looks at. Condo and townhome owners near Hall Road usually want Apartment and Condo Cleaning, which accounts for building access, elevators and quiet hours. Households that want the ongoing tidy-and-reset rhythm rather than a heavy clean tend to book Maid Service.

Our Sterling Heights routes also cover Utica and Warren next door, so a parent’s house a few minutes away can usually be added to the same day.

Good to know

House cleaning in Sterling Heights, common questions

Which parts of Sterling Heights do you cover?

All of it. Our routes run from the Dequindre and Troy border east to Schoenherr and Hayes, and from 14 Mile north past 19 Mile. That includes the older streets around Dodge Park and Utica Road, the Plumbrook area, the neighborhoods feeding Utica Community Schools and Warren Consolidated Schools, and the newer subdivisions north of 18 Mile.

What do searches for cleaning services Sterling Heights MI usually turn into?

Three things, in our experience. A recurring route every week or every other week, a one-time reset before family visits, or a move out clean when a house on the market needs to show empty and spotless. We quote all three the same way, with a walkthrough first and a flat figure after.

Do you clean finished basements?

Yes, and in Sterling Heights it matters. Most houses here have a basement, and finished lower levels hold humidity through July and August until the carpet, the utility sink and the storage shelving carry a musty edge. If your basement is part of the route we clean it as a room, not as an afterthought.

Can you work around older tile and grout?

Yes. A 1968 bathroom off Utica Road does not respond to the same product as a 2016 shower surround north of 18 Mile. We use what the surface will take, and we tell you honestly when grout has reached the point where cleaning will not fix the color.

Do I need to be home?

No. Most Sterling Heights clients are at work. You can leave a key, a lockbox code or a garage code, and the owner holds it rather than passing it around a crew. Many clients prefer to be home for the first visit so they can point things out, which we encourage.

How do I get a price?

Call or text (248) 971-4886 or email [email protected]. We book the walkthrough, usually within a few days, and you get the written room-by-room checklist and the price before you commit to anything.
